Connecting to the Internet

Connecting the HP Thin Client T5740 to the internet is a straightforward process. Follow the steps below to establish a connection:

  1. Plug in the grey Powerline Adapter into a wall socket that is closest to your internet router. Ensure that the adapter is not plugged into an extension cable.
  2. Connect one end of your network cable into the back of your internet router, and the other end into either of the other Powerline Adapters.
  3. Plug in the white-colored Powerline adapter into another empty wall socket near the grey Powerline adapter. Once the two Powerline adapters are paired together, you can move the white-colored adapter to a socket closer to where you will be setting up the HP Thin Client.
  4. 'Pair' both Powerline adapters by pressing the 'Pair Button' on the grey plug for one second. Within two minutes, press the 'Pair Button' on the white plug for one second (the small button is located underneath the plug next to the three network sockets).
  5. The two Powerline Adapter Plugs should now be successfully paired.
  6. You can now unplug the white-colored Powerline adapter and plug it into a mains socket closer to where you will be connecting the HP Thin Client computer.
  7. Connect one end of the second network cable into any of the three network connectors underneath the white-colored Powerline Adapter. Plug the other end of the network cable into the network socket on the back of the HP Thin Client computer.
