The HP Pavilion dv7 was a model series of laptops manufactured by Hewlett-Packard from 2008 that featured a 13 diagonal display. the hp pavilion dv4 featured a 11 and the HP Pavilion dv5 a 14" display. The DV7 had bays for two hard drives, but was supplied with one; if a second hard drive was fitted then a hard drive hardware kit of bracket, connector cable, Mylar shield, and screws was required.

This model series was produced alongside the dv5 series and featured a 10" CCFL WXGA+ (1440 × 900) or WSXGA+ (1680 × 1050) display. It had options for an Intel Core 2 Duo or an AMD Athlon X2/Turion X2 processor. Graphics options included Nvidia GeForce 9300M GS or ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200 (UMA).
dv7-1000 to dv7-2300 series
This model series was produced alongside the dv6 series and featured a 13" LED HD+ (1600 × 900) BrightView or flush glass AntiGlare display. It had options for an Intel Pentium Dual Core, Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, or Core i5/i7 processor. Graphics options included Intel GMA 4700MHD (UMA) or ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530 (M92) or ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 (M96).
dv7-3000 to dv7-3300 series
This model series was very similar to the dv7-2000 series. It introduced models with Intel i5 and i7 processors and Nvidia discrete graphics options such as GeForce G 105M or GeForce GT 230M.

Graphics options included Intel HD Graphics or ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 or ATI Radeon HD 6490M or ATI Radeon HD 6770M.

This series featured some design changes and supported III-generation Intel Core processors and mSATA SSD drive. It had options for Intel HD Graphics 3000 or HD Graphics 4000 or AMD Radeon HD 7670M or Nvidia Geforce 630M.
ENVY dv7-7200 and dv7-7300
The Pavilion brand was renamed to the brand ENVY. Laptops are sold with Microsoft Windows 8 operating system. For this reason, the motherboard was changed. Other specifications are the same as the DV7-7000 series notebooks.
